mused @ 10:13 AM
free flow alcohol, free food, music, met and saw people. wat more can i say.
the alcohol last night was free flow till 1100 hours. i had err... one whiskey coke, 1 1/2 whiskey dry, 1 beer, 1 wine and i know my body can't really take alcohol. somehow, i managed to tahan all the way before puking in my front lawn. aye. even through the noxious taxi trip home from st james. my body instinctively gave up after i opened the gate to my house though. and out with the purged alcohol came the food as well.
the food last night was not bad. there was mussels (spicy), seafood noodles (spicy), curry (spicy), yea you get the picture. there were also some fantastic meatballs that disappeared pretty fast.
last night, all the acts from all the rooms in st james were squeezed in powerstation. there was the bellini act, the dragonfly act, the salsa room act. i rather much enjoyed the bellini and the latin music last night. i thought they were pretty good.
i didn't really know anyone there last night. but i am sure i saw one of the specs from apc there last night. i was sitting behind a urban columnist and a fashion rag writer last night and listening to them talk about models for about 1/2 hour. also saw abigail chua (i think thats her name), the one from under one roof. i also somehow managed to have a conversation with my boss' contact from a film coy. we were under a speaker so we were more like screaming. but i started talking to him about films and we managed to get along. but the real highlight of the night for me was meeting electrico and talking to them. i talked to amanda ling (keyboard), david tan (lead vocals) and william lim jr (back up vocals). they said they will be holding a concert in singapore on march the 2nd and they will be releasing a new album at the end of this year. amanda ling and i also had a conversation about how the youth are appreciating local music compared to the older generation whose mindset is that anything local was bad. its really a priviledge for me to talk to them.
tis was an interesting night.
